Gift Rochester

This project started in-house when our team wanted to support local businesses during the stay-at-home-order. Creative ideas started flowing and one leads to another. Sarah had a personal need to fill her son’s Easter basket, yet wanted to find a way to shop local. Doors were closed to the ‘mom-and-pop’ shops, and we needed a way to purchase local merchandise.

This didn’t exist, so we created one.

Since then, Gift Rochester has found its lane as Rochester’s local gift-giving source, garnering over $6,000 in orders during the Easter holiday before collaborating with Mayo Clinic to provide over $250,000 in Christmas gifts to employees. The immediate and lasting success of the program definitely took us by surprise, but we’re running with it – and having a great time doing it!

This year, our team will focus its energy on expanding the corporate gift-giving program – notably, partnering with local companies and organizations to lift their missions.

Honestly, it was never our plan for Gift Rochester to grow into what it is today – but we’re so happy it’s worked out, and our commitment to helping locals shop local is stronger than ever.
